Quality Technician

Job Summary: Quality Technician for a Tier 1 Automotive facility with roughly 170 employees reporting to the Quality Manager.

Will discuss days and times at interview

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct receiving inspections – Shipping & Receiving

Conduct set-up approvals.

Conduct In-process floor audits.

Conduct final inspections/ operators

Assist in gage R&R Studies.

Assist in PPAP required studies.

Train operators as needed in gage reading and methods of usage.

Collect, evaluate, record scrap on each shift.

Ensure all documentation (box layer cards/tags/forms) are completed and filed correctly.

Ensure all gages used on floor are calibrated and kept clean.

Keep QA labs and audit areas clean (swept/mopped) and organized.

Operate CMM programs as required.

Scrap and Hold Area Disposition daily

Scrap/quarantine areas to be kept clean and always organized.

Package; notify supplier/customer on all returnable scrap.

Monitor all critical operations and where SPC charting and data sheets are required, QA will monitor each shift to ensure operators are completing the chart correctly.

Other assignable tasks as directed by Quality Manager or Director of Quality

Cleanliness tests

Special Circumstances of the Job: Able to work well with others, able to work in the fast-paced environment and perform multiple tasks.

Qualification Requirements: Basic knowledge quality systems, internal auditing (as needed), gauge calibration, usage, verification and cleaning, basic blueprint reading and GD&T, basic inspection, CMM operations, and gauging knowledge, basic understanding of quality documentation (control plans, FMEA, process flow diagrams).

Physical Requirements: Be able to be on plant floor daily. Walking, bending, stooping, standing for long periods of time.

Work Environment: Office/Manufacturing plant floor

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Office/ 40+ hours a week Monday-Friday, on call availability, weekend availability.
